I am Courage Eghosasare Godwin Ode. I came to UNIBEN officially in 1989 to study economics and Statistics. Let’s look at the lighter side of begin an ergonomics graduate – I have never had the opportunity to use my certificate. Well, I am a pastor based in Sokoto. Economics brought me into UNIBEN and UNIBEN gave me LCC.
I prayerfully found LCC with the help of the Holy Ghost, though the advice of a Charismatic brother in town(Benin City) helped. Before I joined the fellowship, I was already born again and it was not a big deal. The GC when I joined was Bankole Olusina. One thing that you could feel from a distance in LCC was warmth and love. It was natural; that’s how I can explain it. The community living in LCC, based on AGAPE, was what draw me into the fold. It was emphasized and practised.
I was a member of follow-up, teaching out-station (school visitation) singing and health (hospital visitation) Ministries. I ended up as the GC of fellowship in my first year. Can you believe that? It was that our core had to work hand in hand with the outgoing core so that we could acclimatize. I think that was done more for my benefit. My fellow Coregites made it easy for me and we became friends as we went along. I am still very much in touch with all of them, such that one of them is my wife today. (Ok please, I started dating my wife after we had left school and finished youth service, before she became Mrs ode).
I made lifelong friends during my time at LCC. Let me give a roll call of them: Perogbish (Peter Kuteyi), Sheddy (Rasheed Aruna), Ogbepicinc
