LOCCAF CONVENTION 2024 IS HERE!

The LOCCAF Project:
Facts & Details

Fact 1

Most of us remember a time on Campus when you could use Lecture Theatres, Basement, Sports Complex, June 12 etc for Campus fellowships and activities. All those days are gone now! Fellowships on Campus at a point were almost shut down and it took a lot of discussions to keep this alive considering that only Christ and his righteousness  in the lives of young students makes a difference. However, the end result was that they were all kicked out of the lecture halls and their times and places for fellowship strictly regulated.
Presently, LCC meets under a canopy in Sports Complex (not a tent) which it shares with another fellowship, that they have to set up before fellowships, dismantle afterwards and also move their equipments (Trust me when i say you don't want to be there on a rainy day). Most of the other fellowships on campus with an active Alumni body have had places gotten for them nearby & off campus which provides stability.
LCC is in need of a place where they can hold fellowship and ministry meetings with a capacity of 200 students at least. As a proactive body with oversight over LCC, we should not sit with folded arms until all the nearby building opportunities are snapped up by others with foresight

fact 2

If you think there was an accommodation problem during your time on campus, it is no better now. Most of the students have accommodation problems and this proposed LOCCAF Project will help greatly. Presently, the place being used as a Secretariat with ever increasing rents only takes care of brothers  as our sisters cannot be kept in that same facility for obvious reasons. When we get a place, we will have separate sections for brothers and sisters, especially for those who come from indigent backgrounds and cannot afford school accommodation. This will also serve as a base for the Core Group to operate from, as well as the Brothers and Sisters core.

Fact 3

Prospective undergraduates of UNIBEN sometimes travel down with no place to sleep in order to take the Post-UTME. Having a place for LCC, helps them to offer kindness to the stranger, preach the gospel and also bring them into the Fellowship. Also before accommodation is issued by the School Authorities, some students can have a safe haven in this Building and it will also show God's love & brotherly love to them which is what LCC has always been about.

Fact 4

LOCCAF Convention does not happen just because we want it to happen. Series of meetings are held before the Annual Convention with LCC, with Planning Committees - Accomodation, Technical, Feeding, Children Department etc. A small office space in the Building is needed to convene these meetings and others during the course of the year. During Convention, Loccaf food can also be prepared from this location conveniently.
Men, Brethren and Sisthren, with these few points I hope you now understand the reason for the Loccaf Project. We are well aware that prices of properties do not depreciate but rather they appreciate. So if we do not handle this as soon as possible, a time will come when it will costs us more to handle. What we are budgeting for N70,000,000 today is not a guaranteed sum in perpetuity, and as at today, we have N13.73 million Naira.

The time to settle LCC is now!
